How the Spinner Plate & Timer Work Together

The Wild Beak EasyFeeder delivers feed automatically using a simple but powerful system: a timer controls when the feeder activates, and the spinner plate controls how the feed is spread. Together, they ensure your animals are fed on time and evenly, with minimal effort on your part.

How the Timer Works

The timer is at the heart of the EasyFeeder’s automation. It allows you to:

  • Set up to 10 feed times per day
  • Choose how long to dispense feed (between 1 and 99 seconds)
  • Adjust motor power level to control the feed spread

Once set, the timer will trigger the feeder at the exact times you've programmed, even if you're not around.

What the Spinner Plate Does

When the timer activates the motor, the spinner plate begins to rotate. Feed drops down onto the spinning plate and is spread outward in a circular pattern.

The distance, quantity and coverage area depend on:

  • How long the motor runs
  • How much power is applied (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)
  • How high the feeder is mounted

This combination lets you fine-tune how far and wide the feed spreads — from a few feet for chickens in a run, to 10+ meters for game birds in larger pens.

Why It Matters

By separating feeding into scheduled bursts, you can:

  • Reduce feed waste
  • Prevent overcrowding or aggressive behaviour at feeding times
  • Encourage more natural foraging patterns
  • Ensure consistent feed delivery even when you're away

The ability to control both the timing and the distribution range is what makes the EasyFeeder stand out from basic feeders.

Tip: Test and Adjust

Every setup is different, so it’s worth doing a few test runs:

  • Start with lower power settings and short spin durations
  • Observe how far feed travels and how your birds respond
  • Adjust the timing or power if feed isn't reaching the right area

Once dialled in, your feeder will run like clockwork — reliably and efficiently.
